This academic year has been a rather busy one for our International Club, with lots of different, exciting events for our international students and researchers.
Kicked off by the Rector’s reception at the Barge Hall by River Emajõgi in September, which brough together around a hundred of our internationals, it continued with some fun field trips and indoor events where our students and researchers from different countries such as Finland, Latvia, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, China and Iran could meet up and get acquainted with the university and the country.
Together we visited Elistvere animal park, Siimusti ceramics factory, the Ice Age Centre in Äksi, Tallinn Zoo and Seaplane Harbour. Our End-of-the-Year party got everyone involved in cooking of their national dishes, and the International Club birthday party in February was a great opportunity to try out traditional Estonian Shrove Tuesday dishes such as whipped cream buns and pea soup. Those who took part in the Finnish Night in the beginning of May had a chance to try Finnish delicacies and to go to sauna with Finns.
