The Prize for Popularisation of Estonian Science is an award granted by way of competition jointly by the Estonian Academy of Sciences, Archimedes Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Research.  

Central Baltic INTERREG IV A Programme 2007-2013 Showcase Conference in Riga, Latvia

On Wednesday, September 29, 2010, the Central Baltic INTERREG IV A Programme 2007-2013 will arrange its second annual Showcase Conference in Riga, Latvia. The conference is a platform to show the achievements of the programme so far, see how the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region is developing and to discuss what may come after the year 2013.

ScanBalt Foorum 2010 “Healthy Future”

The forum subtitled as “Healthy Future” will be held in the Conference Centre of Swissôtelin Tallinn on September 22.-24.2010. It will focus on the variety of issues from life style and food to health related technologies and services as well as industrial biotechnology. Month of films on Landscape Architecture

On every Tuesday and Thursday in April students can watch films dealing with landscape architecture. Films are shown in the Old Yeast Factory building at 60 Pikk Street and start at 19.00. This week the films concentrate on space and perception.

VII Urban and Landscape Days, 22-24 April 2010, Tallinn

The VII Urban and Landscape Days bring together international experts of urban studies, architecture, landscape architecture, design and engineering, as well as activists and social entrepreneurs. The programme consists of keynote lectures, parallel research panels, plenary discussions and tactical workshops in Tallinn region. Main venue is Kanuti Guild Hall with parallel sessions in the Faculty of Architecture. Special track is dedicated to student work of the Academy.

In Memoriam Professor Henri-Charles Dubourguier

6.02.1948 - 11.03. 2010 Professor Henri-Charles Dubourguier undoubtedly was the Ambassador of French research, culture, culinary science and gallantry in the Estonian University of Life Sciences (EMU) and in Estonia on a broader scale. He had the ability to see and treasure the assets in Estonia that a conventional Estonian was too rusty to perceive.

XXIII Conference-Expedition of the Baltic Botanists

The registration for the conference Nature Conservation beyond 2010 is now open. The conference that celebrates the 100th anniversary of Estonian nature conservation will be held on May 27-29 2010 in Kumu (Weizenbergi 34 / Valge 1, Tallinn) and Estonian National Library (Tõnismägi 2, Tallinn). In addition to lectures trips to Matsalu National Park, Lahemaa National Park and Põhja-Kõrvemaa Nature Reserve take place.
